Kate's Frosting on Main St. is pretty good. It's been a few months since I've been there, but I really liked their cupcakes the times I've visited.

I'm spoiled by living and working so close to Central Market, so it's not surprising that I like theirs. http://www.centralmarket.com/Home.aspx

Bird Bakery has been getting some great reviews, but I haven't been there personally. http://www.facebook.com/BIRDbakery

There are dozens of others - hopefully some folks who have tasted other places will chime in.

Kate's Frosting, Bird Bakery, and Central Market are excellent choices for cupcakes!

Our (family) local treat in San Antonio includes both the "sour cream" donuts at San Antonio area HEBs and the super-sized, chocolate chip cupcakes at (HEB) Central Market.

Have a great trip and stay in San Antonio!
