Marriott Riverwalk or Residence Inn Downtown/Alamo

I currently have reservations at the Residence Inn, but just got an email where I can get the Marriott Riverwalk for the same price as the Residence Inn. What do you think is the better choice?? I leave on May 8th, ugh decisions decisions, wish I've been to San Antonio before and had a better idea of what the area was like.

I have not stayed at the Residence Inn but the Marriott is a bit dated although a little better located. I would stay with the Residence Inn for the breakfast!

Stayed at that Residence Inn, but over a year ago. This was before the renovation, and it was still fine. Location is good--you can see The Alamo grounds from the hotel; less than a five minute walk away. Once at The Alamo, cross a street, go down a few steps and through the lobby of the Hyatt and you are on the Riverwalk. Breakfast was good. There is food in the evenings--nothing special but adequate if you choose to eat there. Lots of places within walking distance. I would stay there again.

However, the other one is right at the Riverwalk. We've also stayed there, although again not terribly recently. I believe those rooms have balconies, which the Residence Inn does not. I would also stay at this property again. Either would be a fine choice, but if the price is the same and having breakfast included isn't important to you, we generally choose a room with a balcony over one without. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

There is no wrong choices here just depend on which will meet your personal preference & criteria in a great stay.

As stated the Marriott Riverwalk is on the RIverwalk with a balcony + in the midst of the Rivewalk.

Residence Inn is near the riverwalk, rooms may be a little bigger + a free breakfast + a evening social hr during the week.

Again no help from me as well but just think which meet your personal preference for a great stay with the above amenities.

LOL I know sometimes it's hard to decide on which 1 cause I have the same problems from time to time, if all fails toss a coin. LOL
