First timer going to SA in May

I'll be in San Antonio for the first time (May 6-13) and am staying at the Best Western PLUS Sunset Suites (Sunset Station area). Just a couple of questions:

1. What is the most affordable and fastest way to get to:

- Six Flags Fiesta Texas

- SeaWorld

- Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Probably won't be renting a car while I'm there, but I'm not totally opposed to that either.

2. Recommendations for good buffets on or near the Riverwalk? Price isn't an issue, I'm just looking for quality.

Thanks in advance to any and all who give feedback!

1.for SF, SW- fast and affordable really can't be combined

affordable is bus, fastest is taxi

for Alamo Draft House..newer location by bus to Park North shopping center.

$1.20 feed the machine as you board. Adjacent is North Park Mall and a major transit center for bus. Buses are very frequent going up San Pedro.

look for San Pedro north- frequent or skip

2. Sunday brunches yes, not really any buffets offered.

best brunch in SA-Las Canarias on the river/La Mansion Hotel

Blanco Cafe on N. St Marys..near Greyhound...voted best enchiladas, affordable tasty food, non-touristy

breakfast/lunch daily...M-Sat.

Schilo;s German Deli, circa 1917

Market Square for Tex-Mex

Most of us shy away from eating on the RW..there are better places.

Take Blanco line..stop off at Chris Madrid hamburgers.. a SA institution...resume your ride-bus continues to North Park transit center

2. Re: First timer going to SA in May

taxi fare calculator indicates around $40 bucks one way.....so, a trip/to from both parks would be $160.

so yes, you might strongly consider renting.

as well, bus to SW, SF is very time consuming

car will give you freedom and flexibility

double check with Best Western about parking fees

You really need to consider renting a car with those specific destinations in mind from Sunset Station.

There are several rental car offices downtown, easy walk from your hotel.

I would agree with the weekend brunch at La Masion if you will be near the Riverwalk. It's very good.

I'd definitely rent a car to go to SF or SW, not close to where you're staying and you can hit some good places to eat on the way there and back. I'd check out La Cantera when you're at SF also, great outdoor mall if that interests you.

There is a Hertz office at the Marriott Hotel Riverplace near you.

Best Western Sunset Station is a great place to stay. Free parking when I was there last April.
