Fun with kids in San Antonio

As a military family living in San Antonio for the past year, we have done many fun things in and around the area. We have about 3 months left here in the great state of Texas and want to make sure we don't miss anything fun or interesting to do. We have two boys, ages 7 and 8 and like to include them in most of our outings, so mostly looking for things for the family. We have obviously done the big things Alamo, River Walk, zoo, Natural Caverns, etc. but was wondering what else there might be. Also, not opposed to grown up day time activites as we are fortunate that my husband will have some time off in September and November while the kids are in school. Thanks for any input!

Have you been to Corpus Christi and visited the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium? You could also enjoy Port Aransas and the beaches of Mustang Island or the Padre Island National Seashore. You are only a 2 hour drive away.

Children's Museum - great for the younger kiddos http://www.sakids.org/

The Buckhorn Museum is across the street from the Children's Museum. Lots and lots of stuffed animals (the real kind). www.buckhornmuseum.com

Witte Museum. www.wittemuseum.org Among other things it has a fun science treehouse.

There's a great free kids magazine also available online http://www.sakids.org/
