Las Vegas and Santa Fe nm

We are going to Las Vegas in June and are thinking about going to Santa Fe NM. Does anyone have any other suggestions about where to go that is interesting and closer to Las Vegas. The drive between Santa Fe and Las Vegas is 8-9 hours so we would like to extend our trip and do something closer to LV. Thanks for your suggestions.

First--can you confirm you are coming to Las Vegas Nevada? There is a different Las Vegas in NMexico close to Santa Fe, which I think HeritageHtls is referencing in their post. Common activities from Las Vegas NV are visiting Zion National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Sedona, and Monument Valley, all much closer than Santa Fe. Santa Fe is a great spot to visit, it just depends on how much time you have and how much time you want to spend on the road.

HeritageHtls,

It is imperative that recently joined business owners inform themselves of the posting guidelines regarding self-promotion.

This is a traveler driven entity and while a certain level of owner participation is anticipated and accepted, TA frowns on attempts to self-promote.

I large concern such as the one you work for, should know better.

Years ago we did this trip in reverse with our children. I still refer to it as the "From the Sublime to the Ridiculous Tour."

There are some fabulous places along the way: , North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Monument Valley, Durango, Moab ...

Zion and Lake Meade are probably your best bets as far as something in reasonable proximity to Vegas.
