Moving to Santa Fe. Sixties, active, couple. Need socialization of a neighborhood. Friendly area, walking, sense of neighborhood. Can we find this in Santa Fe? Where?
One can ... The issue may be affordability ... Are you planning to buy ? Renting, short term will provide time to feel out what works for you. Then, call for the moving van ... carracar
buy second. rent first to be sure!
Usually TA isn't a real estate site, but here is some info:
(Depends on your budget, of course. There are a few condo communities you might like also. or perhaps Eldorado. I find. IMO, many SF people stay to themselves, with gorgeous scenery, hiking, restaurants, etc.Or volunteer in the many museums, other places)
So much depends on your budget and space requirements. Find a local broker and share your budget/wish list requirements. A caution about renting first: rents will be higher than corresponding mortgage payments, and with home values and mortgage rates rising, time will be working against you. SF is a great place to retire to...hope it works for you!
