Not sure how old your grandson is, but assuming a kid, I think Hotel Santa Fe. Nice lobby, Indian flute/Spanish guitar music in the lobby/bar area some nights and patio area, with a teepee. No indoor pool though. Close to the Railyard area where the Railrunner train comes in multiple times a day from Albuquerque. Also very close to many family friends restaurants but close enough to walk to the Plaza and all the historic areas. I have found that Canyon Road area (closer to Inn on the Alameda) is less kid friendly with more high end restaurants and many art galleries.
Our grandson is six years old and fascinated by trains. Great advice!
Be aware hotel Santa Fe charges a resort fee. It is also a bit away from downtown. Walkable but may be not for grandson. They used to have a free (?) Shuttle into town. See if that is still available.
Thanks. Hotel Santa Fe has a rate of $129 per night plus resort fee for a king suite. Seems very reasonable.
Yes- Hotel Santa Fe does have a free shuttle for travel around downtown (1 mile radius)
