Need to stay overnight in Buffalo?

hello all,

i'm planning for a trip for JFK-MCO-BUF-JFK in February 2015. Going through BUF solely for Niagara Falls. Is it a need to stay at BUF for a night while visiting the Falls? I'm open to suggestions for hotel accomodations and itinerary.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jessiemel;

>>"Is it a need to stay at BUF for a night while visiting the Falls?"<<

No. In the dead of winter, there are very few attractions that are open.

As Niagara Falls Destination Expert Fallsdude wrote a few days ago...

"The small Aquarium and Seneca Casino are pretty much it. You can still see the Falls from the State Park."

A few hours, at most, are all that is required to visit Niagara Falls NY in February, UNLESS your plans include visiting the Canadian side of the Falls.

Best Regards

There are a number of hotels directly accross the street from the Buffalo airport, as follows:

It is approximately 30 minute drive from the Buffalo airport to Niagara Falls. You may want to rent a car

http://www.visitbuffaloniagara.com/ They have everything you need in one place, shop, restaurant, hotels, art, architecture, history, sports, media and you can even book now. I would stay the night or maybe even 2 nights just so you can see the falls in day and night, beautiful at night and they have a free fireworks display every Friday, Sunday and holidays and maybe even get to see/do a few other things and they do have itineraries under things to do (this listing is helpful as they do have an event calendar also). Sorry but, you won't be able to ride the maid of the mist, it only runs May-October, though you may be able to catch a wine and/or brewery tour, try some sponge candy MMMHHMMM, or come down to Buffalo and check out the mansions on Delaware (large victorian/colonial homes with a fire place in every room) ( most tours range pretty much anywhere between $10 and $25 dollars) restaurants A-Z (depends what you're looking for, I would check out buffalo on localeats.com where you can narrow down to what you want but don't leave without having pizza n wings and do not leave without getting some Weber's mustards to take home with you ( I like the horseradish mustard and you can't get anywhere but here) and don't leave without some sponge candy (keep it cool because it can melt, you can't find it in the south) Give me some time and I can come up with some other things to do/see/eat etc. This cat is going to bed!
