The Viking? The Marriott? The Hyatt? Worth 1nt stay w/kids

Hello Newport Forum!

We are coming for a wedding in the area. We land in Providence 9/4 at 6pm (weeknight) and I thought driving down to Newport for one night stay would be fun. We have never been in the area.

Night two we are meeting up with family to stay in a home in Tiverton. The wedding is in Little Compton?

Any-who, Darn it Newport is expensive! Is it worth this diversion to visit...and if so any advice on finding an affordable place for us and the kiddos. I'm leaning toward the Viking but its 319 pre tax and parking seems like a splurge.

Thanks in advance

You can save a bundle by staying just over the line in Middletown. Check out Newport Inn and Suites. It's across the street from the beach and a 5 minute ride into town. It's definitely worth a visit!

Yes, definitely, TF Green airport in Warwick is small, and just a half hour from Newport. The area is very unique and Newport is a lot of fun. That's a nice time to be here. Most accomodations in Newport don't offer one nights stays then, I think, but as mentioned Middletown is closeby and very convenient. Little Compton is lovely -historic, rural, and quiet. Tiverton is about 20-25 min from Newport, and also a nice, rural-residential coastal town.
