So you don't have a car rental?
No. We’ve got the option of an airport transfer which is priced per person (x 3) or taxi. I’m thinking a taxi is the best option for us. Any thoughts?
You can get a fixed price ride with several recommended companies on here, that range from $23 to about $30. A taxi might well run you $45 or more depending on the route they take and the traffic.
Look at Hawaii23.com, johnnycabhi.com
They are $23 and $25 for two people fixed rates.
Many thanks Placebets, that's just what I was after. Perfect.
Do you need to book ahead of time or can you just pick one up at the airport ?
"No. We’ve got the option of an airport transfer"
Not sure I understand. - Are you on some kind of a package?
Seems to me that renting a car for your visit would serve you best.
Our Travel Agent has put up the option of an ’Airport Transfer’ which is $AUD90 ($US71). I assume this is based on the fact that we have three people in our party. Considering it is less than 9 miles from the airport to our accommodation in Waikiki and we have to do this journey four times, I thought this is a bit excessive. As is described above, a fixed price ride with several recommended companies is around $US25 - $US30. I assume a party of three passengers would be held the price I’ve been quoted. Sounds like a far better deal to me.
We always use Johnny cab as our pick up service to and from the airport. His service is great and he is reliable and prompt. If you read his reviews on TA you will notice that he is listed as number 2 which says it all. He charges $25 $usd for 2 people and an extra $7 or $8 per additional passenger, we booked him through email and he responds within a short time with confirmation.
Ask him for a quote I am sure you won't be disappointed
Thanks, nice to know. I’ll give him a try.
