Yes!

I mean, any time of year can be a good time.

But in general it's after the major holidays and before spring/easter stuff so there's that.

Tends to be rainier on the North Shore and Windward Side but you might get the opportunity to see whales passing by or monster waves on the North Shore so that's cool. :)

It Demond's in where you stay and what you want to do. We go to Oahu and stay at Bellows AFS on the windward side. We were ther last January and it rained every day with too misch surf to get in the water. It was rainy in the north shore too and of course there was big surf. We went o Hanauma Bay a couple of days for snorkeling but left early because of chop and gray skies.

We were fine with it because we go frequently and also have family on Oahu so our visits are not just a Hawaiian vacation. We agreed that if our trip was a once in a lifetime Hawaiian vacation we would have been disappointed.

It is our "rainy" season. Oahu was a bit wetter last year than in previous years. You just never know!! Generally speaking if you stay on the leeward side (south shore, Waikiki) you have a good chance of sunshine, and little rain. If a storm comes through, all bets are off!!

I've made about a dozen trips to Oahu, mostly in January. This year we went in Feb and it rained 2 days. January has always been dry.

It's winter. The northern shores of Kauai and Oahu are usually rainy, with wind and rough ocean conditions. We stay South Maui in winter -- can also have wind and rain, but mostly dry. We've also enjoyed Big Island's Koahala Coast in winter. Hana, on Maui, and Volcano/Hilo are of Big Island are usually less pleasant in winter, too.

At least you can see whales from Maui and Big Island January - March!

It's called "winter" but it's been rather dry for 3 years now. If it does rain it's useally localized and last for a day tops. Those days are called shopping and drinking days.

If you're on O`ahu the beginning of Feb, check out the Punahou Carnival.
