Earliest bus # 22 # 23 Koko Crater

We are looking to hike Koko, and would like to get there as early in the morning as possible, hear that the earliest #22 & 23 are from 815am.... Is this correct or can we go earlier from Ala Moana ?

Many thanks

You can look on the bus website to check schedules.

www.thebus.org

By the way the # 22 bus does not run on tuesdays because Hanauma Bay is closed that day.

We got bus 80A when we hiked up Koko Crater. You are right at starting as early as you can. There is no shade as you climb those 1000+ steps and it gets hot.

We got on bus 80A on the corner of Mc Cully St and S King St.. It is within walking distance of your hotel in Waikiki. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the drop off point on Lunalilo Home Rd by Koko Marina shopping center.

Take plenty of water for your hike. It took me more than 2 hours to get up there but the view was worth it.

Just doubled checked what bus we got, and it wasnt the 80A, it was the 1L. It looks like bus 1 goes there too.

Thanks for the double-check Magic....

I was wondering how that worked, as 80A only runs out to Hawaii Kai in the PM.

Lilpiggy, if you do catch 1 or 1L (just means "limited" stops), make sure the reader board on the front says "Hawaii Kai", not "Kahala Mall", which is where some of them terminate their route.

The bus drivers are friendly and happy to help. Be careful of traffic when hiking up the hill to Hanauma bay.

For Bus 1L going eastbound, the system map on the thebus site shows a stop at King&McCully, while the time-table doesn't. The latter has one at King&Punahou and one at Kapiolani&Waialei, but not one in-between. I wonder if someone could provide confirmation on the stop at King&McCully. It would determine which stop where we would go to catch 1L. Thanks.

The timetables do not show all of the stops.
