Snorkeling other than Hanauma Bay

Suggestions for other points to snorkel that are good close to Honolulu. That can be reached by bus?

I think Sharks Cove on the North Shore is terrific (only in the summer months). But you will need to rent a car to go there, or go by bus, which will be a long roundtrip.

The North Shore Surf Bus tour goes to Shark's Cove and tours (obviously) the North Shore. http://www.northshoresurfbus.com/

We thought we would give it a try as we are not renting a car this trip.

You can snorkel the MLCD (marine life conservation district) in Waikiki. It starts at Queen's Beach which is located on the corner of Kalakaua and Kapahulu. It runs toward Diamond Head till just past the aquarium. The north shore has the best snorkeling but surf is high during the winter months and slowly goes down as spring comes along.
