Lanai sizes

Hi everyone

Regarding the hotels along the waterfront from the Moana Surfrider to HHV, which has the largest (and deepest) lanais on their ocean-front rooms?

Thanks in advance,

Sunshine

None of them are especially deep, as you would find, say, on a resort condominium unit....

Most are just large enough for a couple of chairs and a cocktail table, and some room to move around in if you are lucky.

In regards to total square footage:

1. Halekulani, 100 square feet.

2. Royal Hawaiian Ocean Tower, 86 sq. ft.

3. Hilton Hawaiian Village, various towers 65 to 85 sq. ft.

3. Outrigger Reef ("oceanfront"), about 70 sq. ft.

4. Sheraton Waikiki ("Oceanview") about 65 square feet.

Those in the Surfrider Tower of the Moana, Outrigger Waikiki and many non-oceanfront rooms in the Reef are quite small. More for standin' and lookin' out than relaxing on.

And many of the rooms in two of the Moana buildings, the Royal Hawaiian main buiilding, and portions of the Reef have no lanais at all.

Other than possibly the penthouse at one of the above (or?), I have to believe the ocean front "Lanai Champion" of Waikiki is the Waikiki Shore: 348 sq feet at unit # 900. Guesstimate that the Diamond Head/ocean/mountain views must be close to 270 degrees.

Here is the Vacation Rentals by Owner listing:

HOWEVER, despite checking-in (& enjoying priviledges) at the Outrigger Reef next door, the Shore is your typical condo: no daily maid service of which I am aware. There is a diy in-unit washer & dryer & full kitchen.

Until it was sold, and taken off the rental market, we stayed at a one bedroom just a few doors down and the views are wonderful (we still rent a unit three floors lower).

Hi Beaches, We've always had daily maid service at the Shore but we always booked via. Outrigger. I'm sure this is not the case if you go through VRBO.

Right you are Informedone, but I don't believe Outrigger features any direct ocean front units with the wrap-around lanai. The one bedroom we rent has a 124 sq ft lanai; still relatively large.

We shared a 2 bedroom ocean front with friends years ago, but it was on the 3rd or 4th floor and while it did have a fantastic living room ocean view, the view from the master bedroom was partially obstructed by trees.

Couple of insider info. Halekalani has a few wrap around lansis. There in the main tower. Had friend stay there 3 sliding doors. Awesome view. Another idea is the original tower in the outrigger reef. They have a couple lanai's that are well over 200 sq ft. If I remember right they had 3 chaise loungers 2 tables with 4 chairs each and a serving table. These are not the norm for these hotels but a few exceptions to the rule. You mite have to ask for these rooms.
