North shore now

This is our first visit in July. We've been to the north shore during big waves; and, been lucky enough to see the Triple Crown. It is hard for me to imagine it being flat as a pancake.... But MsFuzz said so and I trust her. Please rec your favorite snorkel spots for Friday- Sunday.

Aloha blenderbringer!! Was there this past Saturday, wonderful snorkeling. The Pupukea/Waimea Marine Life Conservation District is where you will want to be. It's in Pupukea between Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay. Shark's Cove has a rocky entry, Three Tables, just a bit toward Waimea Bay has a beach. Have fun, leave early, I'll be up there probably on Sunday. We spend our summers up there for the snorkeling!!

Snorkel report - good day. If its going to rain might as well be in the water. We parked at Pupukea and walked to the right. Not sure if that is Sharks Cove. Visibility was pretty good. We could se scuba divers on the bottom at the end. No current or surf. Lots of turtles.

Pupukea in summer.

Hanauma Bay in winter.

Hanauma Bay is one of Hawaii's most scenic beaches.

So if that matters, choose Hanauma Bay.
