Do Cab companies have to pay a fee to enter/depart the Honolulu Sirport

No. Why do you ask? There is a queue of cabs outside the departures area...depending on traffic, cost should be around $35 to get to Waikiki.

I'm thinking that the cab companies probably pay a permit for doing business at the airport, but they don't pay a fee as they are entering and exiting the airport.

I have been at airports where the cabs enter and leave through a dedicated lane that was staffed. Never seen anything like that in Honolulu.

I'm not sure today, but, years back, taxi had to pay a flat fee of $4.00 to enter and pick up fares at the airport. You had a time limit for short fares to return to the head of the line.

I believe the set up is similiar, but, what don't know the fees today. Transportation companies picking up at the airport has what they call a permittee sticker to pick up appointments, but, they too, do need to pay a fee. State wants their share of the money, nothings free.
