Blue Hawaii Tours, looking for information 1st timer

Hi all,

I would like to take my 17 year old to Hawaii.

She is interested in photography and of course Elvis.

We would like to know if there are recommended tours for the movies he made.

Also recommended hotels and activities to do.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you all in anticipation.

Nellie

I see you are not getting any feedback, and I can't give you any personal experiences either. Sorry.

Maybe you have already seen this, but here is a link to some review of them on TA.

Maybe this is useful to you.

There is a company called Hawaii Movie Tours in Kauai that will take you around to lots of movie locations, plus to the Coco palms hotel (blue Hawaii). At least I guess it still does.

Maybe check there. I haven't done it but have heard good things. What islands do you plan to visit?

There is a website called elvisinhawaii.com that might give you some info too. As for other activities, and hotels, tell us your budget and what you enjoy doing.

No Elvis tours on Oahu.

But we often mention Elvis movie locations.

Hanauma Bay, Kualoa Regional Park (Chinaman's Hat), Puʻu ʻUalakaʻa State Wayside on Roundtop Drive (Tantalus), Polynesian Cultural Center.

There is a picture of a famous tree at PCC on this link. You'll see it if you go there:

You can find an Elvis statue at Blaisdell Center.

Elvis memorabilia at Rock Island Cafe in Waikiki. It's in King's Village.

Read the Top Questions on the right side of the page for things to do.

Read the online Oahu travel planner (they will only mail hard copies to Canada & U.S.):

This is a photography tour. You can tailor it to include some Elvis Locations. Include the statue at Blaisdell Center, Puʻu ʻUalakaʻa State Wayside on Roundtop Drive (Tantalus), Kualoa Regional Park. Hanauma Bay (just on top to view the bay. You could also go snorkeling there a different day).

He has a good tour with photo-ops.

There is a Photo-ops Top Question on the right.

This is a PDF file. It has a good magnification feature.

Looking at this list, you can walk to Hilton Hawaiian Village (HHV) Ala Wai Yacht Harbor (just past HHV), Ala Moana Beach Park (just across the bridge from Waikiki), Kewalo Basin (boat harbor) just past Ala Moana Beach Park. Bumble Bee Tuna Cannery was either right at Kewalo Basin or right next to it.

Go to USS Arizona Memorial.

There is a new visitors center now.

Elvis did a concert at Bloch Arena at Pearl Harbor to help fund the original visitors center.

Elvis did a concert at Honolulu Stadium (baseball stadium) now Stadium Park. You could add this on the photo tour. About a mile (1.5K) from Waikiki across the McCully St. Bridge.

placebets

I'm not sure nellie is looking at a helicopter tour or some kind of Blue Hawaii (as in the Elvis film) tour.

Either way, nellie is covered now with lots of info.

nellie, I have about 10 Elvis movies or concerts on VHS including the three movies filmed in Hawaii.

I've also been to Graceland.

nellie, you ought to start a new topic about what hotel to stay at and what to do.

Many see the topic, Blue Hawaii Tours, and don't bother reading it as they don't know anything about it. That's why there were no earlier responses.

Nellie, The Rock Island Café at King's Village for many years did "Elvis Presley Tours". I do have one itinerary of that tour, but, unfortunately, I'm in the process of moving and it is packed away for the movers. When are you planning to visit? If your visit is in the future, I will look for the itinerary and get back to you.

Some years back, a group of British rockers went to Graceland for Elvis's birthday and a continued to Hawaii to look at some of the sights and places that connected with Elvis. I was fortunate that a concierge friend contacted me and asked if I could help this group. That's my connection to the itinerary.

Let me know your plans and I will help you. Await your reply.
