Where from Cincy should we go to rent cottage for the wkend?

Of course the first though is Gatlinburg but ive been there multiple times and would like to try some place new and maybe even closer. We're thinking of going to 2nd weekend of Oct and will have 2-4 couples depending..... any suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

Hocking Hills is the second obivous choice. Lake Cumberland, Lake Erie, Ashville NC, Ohio Amish Country.

I love the Pike Lake State Park Group Lodge! Timely question, we went with a family group this past weekend. I've been there several times and we're talking about next year already. Pike Lake is South of Chilicothe, in Amish Country. It's not a very large park, which keeps the noise down but is close to another large state park, Paint Creek, where you can find an unlimited horsepower lake, etc. They say the lodge sleeps 16 but you could probably go up to 20 without much problem. The price can't be beat, I think we paid $125/night! Check it out!

Note: The photo of the living area needs updated, they just replaced the TV with a 52" flat panel and the sofa/chairs are brand new leather.

Agree with above posters that the two places that immediately come to mind are the Hocking Hills and the Ohio Amish country. Asheville and Gatlnburg are too far for a weekend IMO.

definitely Hocking Hills. Leaves should be changing. Places book far in advance for that time of year tho.

Hocking Hills is the only place to be during that time. If you haven't been then you are missing out on the most inspiring place in Ohio. It's a timeframe heavily in demand so get a place now. There are many cottages around there. The Inn at Cedar Falls is the best place (pricey) with the BEST breakfast (the only?) and is in the center of all the trails, if there is availability. We've also stayed with Lazy Lane Cabins. They are secluded and gorgeous. But there are many cabin options.
