What are you interests? Both LexingtonKY and LouisvilleKY are each about an hour and a half away and the drive to each is mostly highway without too much traffic.

Kentucky horse park is just more than hour. A few more minutes and could attend horse racing and people watching at Keeneland. Beautiful track and grounds. Very Kentucky.

Bardstown is a cool little city and you could hop on the bourbon trail from there. Maysville is down the AA highway toward the east. Historical river city.

Where r u in town? That would b big help

Peace

The Cincinnati Reds have a "home-stand" (series of home games) July 25-30, 2014 so you should be able to take in baseball game.

Definitely make a visit to the Reds Hall of Fame while you're in Cincinnati too. They have a fantastic museum that will give you some great Reds history

Big Bone Lick State Park is pretty interesting. Meets the History and Countryside requirements. Check when the visitor center is open. For History, you should visit the Freedom Center right next to the baseball stadium. Fascinating place.

Also just wander around Covington, right across the river. Very interesting and historical place.
