Teton Mountain Lodge-drive time

Any experiences staying at the Teton Mountain Lodge?

How far of a drive is it to antelope flats, willow flats and or oxford bend? I hear these are the best locations to see wildlife at dawn and dusk.......just wondering how early I have to get up to go!!!!

Sorry this is in yelllowstone forum, i received no replies in the Grand Teton forum

We have stayed in 1 or 2 bedroom suites at Teton Mountain Lodge several times...and plan to stay there again in a week. Very nice, upscale lodging & helpful/professional staff. Never used spa/pool facilities because we're so busy out in the parks. Can't really comment on the restaurant, either, as we typically eat elsewhere.

The hotels in Teton Village are about as close as you can stay to the park without actually being in the park. In early June, we typically try to be out on the road by 4:30 - 5 am (or earlier) for views within GTNP. The arrival of "dawn" will, of course, vary based on what time of year you'll be there and the time it takes to get to a specific location in the park will vary based on which route you take, what you encounter along the way, etc. In the most general terms, you might plan for at least 60-75 minutes drive time if you want to be in a specific location by first light.

Have a great trip!

You can drive from south entrance of YSNP to Jackson Hole in an hour. It is about 10-15 min between each of these areas. We spent one day in GTNF and saw mostly elk, bision, and water fowl. The hiking paths were closed in the Coulter Bay area due to high bear activity. We just got back Sun, and apparently it is early spring and the bears are just waking up - HUNGRY. We saw animals at all times of day. They cross the roads, unexpectedly. They graze in valleys, drink in the rivers.
