Yellowstone Park Hike Pics

These are some pics of the hikes my grandson and I took while in Yellowstone June 28-July 1, 2010. We did 6 out of the 8 we had planned. I've reposting the link for the Mt Washburn Hike on here just so all the hikes are on one thread.

Again, my thanks.

Can't help but recall two years ago observing hikers on Specimen Ridge... above a Grizzly. And not far from each other, either. I don't think either knew the other was there.

LOL ...Voyaging, probably a good thing. We did see some bear scat on the lower part of the hike closer to the Speciman Ridge trailhead.

Thanks for putting into pictures what my hiking book didn't. This is very helpful.

I loved the picture of Lake hotel from the trail.

Thanks again.

And also, what exactly does bear scat look like? Seriously, I am only up on dog poo and raccoon poo.

Google bear scat and you'll see some pictures of it. I had a picture of some pretty darn fresh scat we found while hiking in the Beartooths two summers ago but for the life of me I can't find it right now. I'll have to check some of my picture cds.

I love pic 16 in the Specimen Ridge album. It's cool seeing all the younger growth mixed in with the older trees that were killed by fire. I have always loved hiking around burn areas.
