Apline base for GNTP visit, can this work?

We are coming in from Salt Lake City and plan to be in Jackson Hole by 1pm or 2pm.We want to head to Jenny Lake and hike as far as we can for 63yr.olds(healthy), then take the boat ride across the lake then explore JacksonHole, leisurely. We would like to be back at Flying Saddles for check in and our evening meal,I see the reviews are really good for this restaurant, and have read the menu, looks yummy. Is this a workable plan for our first day? We realize Alpine is a 35min.drive from JH.

We hope to get up early the next morning and tour all the lake area, Jackson Lake up to CoulterBay and spend a little time in Jackson for our dinner meal, then head back to Flying Saddles for our 2nd night. Would this schedule work? We will then be moving into Yellowstone for rest of the trip West entrance and Norheast entrance.

Thanks for all the advise everyone gives us,we appreciate it.

Alpine is very pretty. Aside from the extra drive time it would be OK. The drive along the Snake River through the "grand" canyon is pretty but real curvy. Seemed to be popular for radar traps (we saw two) around bends. Workable, yes if you don't mind the bit of extra driving. Fun to watch the rafters and fly fishers down below on the river.
