We seeking opinions and suggestions on if my wife and I should spend our three nights lodging inside the park as three nights in a OF Inn West Standard Room 1 queen bed; or two nights in a OF Inn West Standard Room 1 queen and one night in a Lake Lodge Pioneer Cabin 1 double bed. Would your opinion change if the third night was in the canyon area?
We planned the trip at the last minute around a booking of two nights at OF Inn. We continued to look for a third night in the park hoping to get a room in canyon area. A change of nighttime scenery, restaurants and proximity to other sights seemed to be a good idea, but would involve a lodging change the day before we leave.
A few days later we were able to get a third night at the Lake Lodge then just tonight got a third night in the same type room at OF Inn. Now we need to decide what do: change of location or stay in same location. Before making final decision plan to contact Xanterra to see if our 2 reservations at OF Inn can be combined to make sure we don’t have to do a room change, as that is the main advantage of not changing locations. Will continue to look, but not optimistic a room in canyon area will open up. We arrive on Aug 12 by air; spend two nights in Jackson, exploring GTNP before moving into the park on Aug 14 for 3 nights. We fly home late afternoon of Aug 17.
