Flying into one airport and out of another can have very high one way car rental fees so please check on that before you book your trip.

With 7 days most of us on the forum suggest 4 days in Yellowstone and 2 days in the Grand Tetons. If you want in park lodging then book only with Xanterra and split lodging between Old Faithful and Canyon/Lake area. For out of the park we prefer West Yellowstone while others like Gardiner.

For the Grand Tetons you can stay at Colter Bay, Signal Mt. or Jackson Lake Lodge or stay in the town of Jackson Hole.

Buy a cooler and pack water, snacks, and lunch supplies for your daily trips. There is much to see in terms of scenery and wildlife. The park is huge and here are some of the most popular places to visit-

Weather the first week of June can be iffy- so be prepared- could be sunny and warm or cold and snowy. Dress in layers. No matter what the weather you will have a great trip!!!

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Were you planning to spend any time in Boise? You are looking at a good 6 hour drive from Jackson to Boise without stops.

Also, do you know what time your flight arrives in Bozeman? It might be possible to drive to either Gardiner or West Yellowstone for that first night.

Do your 7 days include your arrival day and the day you leave from Boise?

PeachBelle has given you good direction on how to split your days.

Thanks peachbelle, we are spending 2 days or more in Boise, 51 years ago we qmeet and marred there so going back in time.lol yes we checked out flights. We are stopping in Idaho falls or Pocatello one night then on to Boise. Getting in to Bozeman 11--12 am from east coast. So night there is best. 7 days do not include travel time.

Spending first night in Bozeman then driving loop to canyon village to fishing bridge on to grant village for the night. Next day to old faithful and upper geyser basin. Then on to Grand Teton National Park. No sure if a night in Jackson or drive over to Idaho Falls then next day to Boise? Any thought on this.

IMO staying in Grant Village is not best place to stay- nothing there except cabins. Try staying at Canyon or Lake or Old Faithful area.

The park is huge and if it says on a map that it is 30 miles from one location to the next then plan on that taking you at least an hour to drive it.

I would spend at least 2-3 days in Yellowstone- stay either in park or in West Yellowstone or Gardiner.

How long is the drive from Bozeman to Old Faithful? Any suggestions on where to stay near Old Faithful. And is it possible to do part of the eastern loop then head to GTNP and down to Jackson.in one day.

Usually takes us 2-3 hours to drive from Old Faithful down to Jackson Hole.

Takes about 2 1/2- 3 hours or more to drive from Bozeman to Old Faithful- depends on traffic and bison jams.

Only place to stay near Old Faithful is Old Faithful inn or Snow Lodge.

We have stayed in West Yellowstone and driven to Old Faithful and explored and eaten lunch then made it to Jackson Hole in time for dinner. We then went back up to the Grand Tetons to explore the next couple of days.
