Five nts Yellowstone, about Sept 20+
Rain? Snow? ☺
We will be swooping in from Glacier with an overnight in most likely Bozeman and exiting to GTNP so seems to me best to start No and head So.
Looking for a great campgroundS but, concern for the rental car (Slough Creek unpaved rd?)
We have selected Norris and Slough. Slough for wildlife/hiking. Norris more for central base to see the park. We are aware primitive status of camps.
Is Slough a good camp? Has great reviews. Looks near Lamar and Hayden Valleys. Nature. We want to avoid driving up and down the road to minimze issues with the rental. Sorry so unclear here...that must be done to go to Hayden and Lamar valleys to see wildlife yes?
Norris looks also.close to nature compared to other camps, nice site. Relatively central to park and flush toilets.
★What must do hikes or activities are easily accessible from these campsites? We really want to see animals and will have had our fill of hiking and lakes from Glacier.
We also do not want to miss out on Beartooth Hwy. Could we drive from Bozeman through the large portion of rte212 and return to Slough Creek by say noon and still get a good spot late Sept? How long will it take to drive with stopping for photos approximately? Is the summit past Red Lodge?
We are looking at 2nts Slough, 3 Norris
Any help...much thanks.
