East Entr Road - Bison migration

The following was posted online at YNP Wildlife today:

Bull bison are starting to make their way over Sylvan Pass into Yellowstone from the Shoshone National Forest. Please keep an eye out for them as they are often walking in the road and sometimes will even sleep in the middle of it. They are mostly heading to the Hayden and Pelican Valley areas. The bison rut starts in early August, and afterwards a large number of bulls will head back out again.

thanks- a heads up for the reason to allow extra time and not drive in the dark when in Yellowstone and the surrounding area.

We saw a very large bison bull walking up over Dunraven Pass a few days ago. Seemed like he was on a mission and walking right down the middle of the road. When we came back the opposite direction he was already past Mount Washburn parking area and headed down the other side towards Hayden.
