Post YNP - Advice on Sonora - Angels Camp - Murphys area

After four days of hiking and exploring Yosemite NP in late June, waiting to decompress with some relaxation before heading back to San Fran. Have Friday and Saturday to stay Sonora-Angels Camp-Murphys area to do some walking through towns, wine tasting, maybe Big Trees Park easy hike or Columbia National Park. See a little of the goldmine area?

Which town would be better stepping off and coming back to point? Have a preference? Town more walking friendly, shops, restaurants etc. Driving to and from?

Any thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

We really enjoyed Murphys when we were up there. Easy drives to the Big Trees, Ironstone, caverns and not too far from Jamestown & Sonora.

I would stay in Sonora with more lodging options, restaurants etc. The whole area is interesting & only a short drive from one to another.

I agree with Juxie about Murphys. It is probably the closest to the activities that you want to see and do. Actually any of the towns you mention will work- even Jackson or Sutter Creek.
