Crowds the last weekend in June 2014?

How bad will it be? Should we do Yosemite the last weekend in June 2014, and then SF July 1-4, or would the weekdays (Tues-Fri) of July 1-4 be better for Yosemite? Already have lodging in park for the June weekend. Due to work/school, this is the only time we can go - 2 adults & a 13 y/o.

Thanks so much!

My advice is to keep your plans intact for the last weekend of June 2014, especially since you have lodging already booked inside Yosemite. Lodging the first week of July is no doubt booked tight anyway -- at this late date. Be sure to pack a lot of patience with you in order to deal with the crowds and the traffic at Yosemite. You will surely need it. A midweek lull is non-existant at Yosemite between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and especially the week that Fourth Of July falls in.

Hi there! Consider yourself lucky (or not) that you were able to secure lodging when you did. June 30, 2014 marks the 150th anniversary that Yosemite became a state park. There are several celebrations planned throughout the year to celebrate. I suspect that June may bring in even more crowds because of this big event. Fun to be part of the extra festivities, but it may mean even more crowds to deal with!
