Most of these have been discussed here but this is a nice article to keep for reference.

Nothing mentioned there that isn't already common knowledge here.

This is a good article. I came across that article last week. Whenever I travel I like to read the 'local' news sites and do a Google News search on the area a few weeks in advance.

Most things mentioned I already learned here. The one that was new was the Ansel Adams Gallery free camera walk. I followed up on that. Apparently Ansel Adams Gallery photographers lead a walk in the valley showing people how to best photograph the surroundings.

It is free and limited to 15 people. I would have signed up for it when I called them last week, but they only reserve spots 3 days in advance. It is on my list to call as soon as we touch down in San Francisco.

Unless he knows some secret, I'd say his tip for getting campsite reservations won't work. You cannot select a campsite and fill in the form until the reservation window opens at 7:00.

There is nothing in his post that isn't in the FAQs here on this board. Rather, the FAQs are more comprehensive.

I would recommend staying away from anything he mentions for the next couple of months.

Are you referring to John Flinn, Pareo? Who put a burr under your saddle?

Maybe pareo meant those spots will be busy after people read this? Though most things mentioned are pretty popular spots already.

We're going in a few days!

We could eliminate forums and posts altogether and just have a list of FAQs. Or just go buy a guidebook.

The thing that makes TA interesting is the interactive discussion. Anyone can read up on a subject on their own.

Anytime a media prints a list of "secrets" or "Top 10's" of a place, the volume increases dramatically, for a while.
