There are many good restaurants, a giant screen movie theater, little shops to walk thru and a few photo art galleries, like Fatali and David West.

Maybe check out a sunset tour to Smith Mesa. www.zionjeeptours.com

Not a whole lot. I seem to recall the shops closing fairly early?

Watch the sun go down on the canyon walls, watch the bats come out at dusk, go back into the canyon and walk along the road with a flashlight and enjoy the dark and the quiet.

Fresh air an altitude will wear you out faster than normal days. Expect to go to bed early and wake up early in the morning.

Though not as well known as bryce, the night sky near zion will still have more stars than you would see in PA.

Grab a star chart, a jacket, a blanket, find a spot without trees and discover the night sky.

We usually take a couple of books and spend our evenings reading and enjoying the hot tub (Desert Pearl and Cliffrose both have lovely hot tubs). The hot tub is lovely after a busy day of hiking.

Cliffrose also has fire pits which can be used unless there is a ban on burning. Other hotels may have fire pits as well. There is nothing better than toasted marshmallows under the Utah evening sky!

Thanks all for the replies!

Oh believe me, relaxing and enjoying the surroundings are exactly what we will be doing. Its been ten years since i have been to springdale, just thought the town as serene as it is, my have expanded a bit more than i remember.

Restaurants, movies, etc.

(dez40) thanks for the suggestions ill check em out!

I think the suggestion about stargazing is "dead on". We're going to be at Brian Head the week of October 2nd and plan on spending at least a couple of evenings at Cedar Breaks watching the night skies. Can't wait!
