Rafting River

We will be in Zion and Bryce NP in early June and would like to know if there is a rafting tour or a river trip we could do in the area, we have two spare days i have not booked into our itinerary as yet. The other half is looking at the jet Boat London bridge trip in Laughlin as he thinks a day on the Colorado River would be nice, but if there is something around Zion or Bryce we could stay on.

Thanks in advance

You cannot raft the Virgin. It is a tubing experience only. And it is the only thing close to a big river in the area of Springdale. So if you want to raft you'll need to go to Laughlin or Page. From Page there is a very nice trip through what is left of the Glen Canyon from the dam to Lee's Ferry.

You can innertube the Virgin River, like Kbec said. The website for the Page raft tour is:

www.raftthecanyon.com

If you are coming out of Vegas, there is a raft tour from Hoover Dam to Willow Beach.

www.blackcanyonadventures.com

Or you can rent a motorboat in Willow Beach and go back upriver toward the dam.

If you choose one of the raft tours, the one out of Page is way more spectacular in terms of scenery, although Black Canyon is pretty nice too. Just different.

The jetboat at Laughlin goes thru Topock Gorge on the way to Havasu. Its pretty thru that section.

Would your reccomend tubing the virgin river? Would the water be cold in September? And is there a website about it? Thanks!

Highly recommend it, its fun. The only problem is they tend to wrap up the tube rentals just after Labor Day in September. Zion Adventures rents tubes if you look under the tubing gear rental section.

www.zionadventures.com

Other places used to rent tubes also, but you will need to check on that once you get there, to see if they are still going.

I checked out the website, and they do stop labor day weekend. Thats too bad because it looks like a lot of fun!
