it shouldn't be a problem, but you might want to consider taking some kind of parental permission just in case, something like this:

Yes you do. You need a signed, notarized letter from her parents and you can get it on the Canadian Gov travel website. My sister took my son out of country and needed the letter.

This is the letter that I used, and my lawyer did not charge me to notarize it.

Seriously, just wondering if anyone has ever been asked for the letter.

Yes, my sister and her husband were asked for it and she had it. She was flying from Toronto to FL (Disney).

I would definitely get a letter. There is nothing worse than being given a difficult time upon plane check in and possibly being refused to board.

If your GrandDaughter is 17, then the answer is Officially NO.

She is over 16 and free to travel, even on her own. Doesn't matter if she's with you or not.

thanks-it was the age that I was wondering about. When we took her to Mexico she was only 11 so we did get the signed letter that time. She has her passport & her last name is the same as ours so I'm hoping we're ok. Thanks all

Thanks!

We're heading back to Jamaica for the first time in 8 years, so I'm checking out over here as well.

Cheers
