Best self catering/picnic food shop in Wanaka

My husband and I will be staying 3 nights in Wanaka in Januar. I know there are loads of yummy restaurants but we have a self catering apartment so will be trying to buy nice picnic supplies for lunch and maybe self cater for dinner. Where would you recommend for fresh tasty salads, soups etc etc? Thank you.

There is a large New World supermarket in Wanaka which should have everything you need. We were in Wanaka four nights and self catered for three as well as making lunches.

As well as the supermarket, there is a fresh foods market up near the main roundabout into town. It will have more gourmet stuff. You can also buy things from the many local cafes. The supermarket (New World) has a good range though, and has just upgraded its deli so has a better selection of meats, cheeses and salads.
