Day trips to Oslob (whale sharks) and Kawasan Falls

Hi,

I'm planning to go swimming with the whale sharks in Oslob, and would also like to see Kawasan falls. I'm also thinking about staying over night in Siquijor.

Can anyone advise me on the following itineraries?

Day 1: arrive in Dumaguete

Day 2: ferry to Siquijor, explore the island and spend the night in Siquijor

Day 3: Beach day in Siquijor, then head to Oslob

Day 4: Swim with to see whale sharks & Tumalog Falls, spend the night in Oslob or Moalboal

Day 5: oslob/Moalboal - Kawasan Falls, then head back to Dumaguete

or

day 1: arrive in Dumaguete

Day 2: Day trip to Oslob for the whale sharks

Day 3: Day trip to Kawasan Falls,

Day 4: Ferry to Siquijor, stay overnight

Day 5: beach and then ferry back to Dumaguete

On Day 2 you can do both Oslob and Kawasan Falls. No need to break it up. There is Casaroro Falls and Twin Lakes in Dgte too, just in case. Otherwise, visit Apo island.

Thanks sole2soul!

Can you also tell me how long it takes to get to Apo Island from the area near the Dumaguete airport?

Are you staying around that area? It depends on traffic and sea conditions but that would probably be anywhere fr 2 to 3 hours.

Yes, I'm considering staying near that area. Seems like a convenient place to stay in order to catch ferries to Cebu.

Which hotel are you considering in that area and which ferry terminal do you mean?

sole2soul: I'm thinking of staying at Go Hotels Dumaguete, and will probably end up staying in Dauin as well. I'll be there the week of Christmas, and I realized I'll have to alter my itinerary slightly since ferries won't be running on Christmas day.

Hi ,

sorry to hijack your thread hunnybeez, thought I'd keep the info together. :-)

S2S, you think we can do a day trip to Oslob from Duma no problem? Using this schedule, whereiscebu.com/islands-and-provinces/…

We can catch the 5 or 6am fastboat(?) and be on a bus in time for a 7am 'first up' at Tan-awan?

It would possibly be easier to go straight through to Duma and back track to Tan-awan on a day trip. We are coming from Cebu anyway, but an overnight break in Oslob for a 30 minute adventure seems like a waste of our precious time?

Thoughts?

thanks!

Why don't you proceed to Dumaguete after Oslob?

Because we will be there on a weekend (next weekend !) and want to beat the crowds it that is at all possible, the only way to do that is leave Cebu at stupid o'clock in the morning. We don't want to do that.

If it's possible from Dumaguete that would make a nice day trip rather than a super early morning and very long expedition all the way to Dumaguete in one day. We'd just be too shagged to enjoy Dumaguete when we get there !
