Help with a Beach resort near Girona airport

Hi everyone, were thinking of taking a last minute break to Spain, we've never been to the mainland Spain before and wondered if anyone could recommend a resort/hotel close to beach.

The resort must not be to rowdy its for 2 adults both 40 and a 7 year old child, any advice or help would really be appreciated.

PS don't want to spend a fortune either if we can help it, lol

Thanks in advance

We have been a few times to Calella de Palafrugell, very picturesque with nice beaches.

Both of these hotels are very good

Hi, i would also recomend Calella de Palafrugell and we stayed at Hotel Alga each time we have been.

The coastline is very pretty and other resorts are in walkable distance such as Llafranc and Tamariu.

You should have a look at Empuriabrava which is quite family friendly. It is about 30-40 minutes from Girona.
