Going to Santa sussana, first time

Hi

We are going to the Santa Susanna Resort on the 2nd of May for two weeks and would just like to ask a few questions.....................,

1 I noticed a lot of people say how easy it is to get to Barcelona by train, not fluent in Spanish at all so would like to know if the train stations are easy to understand.

2 is it a easy resort to walk around as the wife has back problems and struggles with hills a bit

3 Is there a Tabac shop and other shops within walking distance

And lastly is there any restruents/bars near, we just like to nip out a few nights for a break.

Sorry for all the questions and really appreciate your answers in advance, spur of the moment holiday so we have not got a clue what we have let ourselves in for.

Regards.

Ian.

a few answers

your hotel is at the back of the resort

you are about a 30 minute walk from SS station. the train is direct to barcelona; get off at placa catalonia which is at the top of las ramblas. the staff at SS are helpful and understand english. the staff at barca also, normally, understand english.the tv screens at catalonia station are easy to understand.be very aware that pickpockets operate in the tourist area of barcelona

good news is the resort is very flat. there is "noddy" train which runs round the resort, and another that goes around malgrat, which both start at the junction of malgrat/SS.the tabac shop is near here as well.

i think you may have difficulties if your wife is not very mobile as everything like bars/shops restaurants are about a 15+ minute walk from the hotel.

i cant remember if the noddy train goes past your hotel, but if it does that may be a very good option for you at around €1.20 per trip.

Ian,

if you have never been to Barcelona before, this is as good a time as any. It's only an hour and 10 minutes approx. by train from Santa Susanna to Placa Catalunya in the heart of Barcelona.

If it's somthing you've been considering, it's certainly do-able from Santa Susanna.
