Where to stay?...

My friend and I, both in our mid-20s, are looking for a cheap, short break mid-September. There are some good deals for the Costa Brava, but I'm stuck on which resort to choose. We'd like somewhere that isn't 'trashy', or too British (eg Lloret wouldn't be on our list), has some culture, good food, and nice bars, as well as some nightlife. We also want somewhere fairly cheap, and within about 30 minutes of Girona airport, as we'll only be going for 3-4 nights to want to keep travelling to a minimum. Big list I know!

Thanks in advance

Roses or Empuriabrava might work for you too. Nice sandy beaches, some nightclubs (Passarella, Chic, etc.) that cater to local clubbers rather than tourists, lots of casual bars, easy to reach with public transportation.

Estartit might be worth you looking at.
