How friendly are the locals in Holbox. Are there people trying to hustle you into buying things if they see you?
In our experience, we found the locals to be very friendly. We did encounter a few people wandering up and down the beach selling items, but only a very few (especially compared to places like Cancun) and they weren’t pushy at all. Sometimes in the main square there were people handing out restaurant flyers or trying to get you to sign up for their whale shark tour, but again everyone we encountered was friendly. One of the tour vendors, once she realized we were more interested in figuring out where we wanted to eat than buying a tour from her, ended up giving us a great recommendation for a restaurant.
I hope this helps!
