First trip to OBX in October

We're traveling tot he OBX in early October for our 2nd anniversary. We were just about to book at the Sanderling Resort in Duck. Just wondering if Duck is a wise place to stay or if we should go further south? I would rather be at a slightly larger place vs. a B&B.

We're just looking to relax, drive around the area and will be in town for 4 nights.

Thanks for any info!

Sanderling is top shelf, very nice and fancy. You could not do much better. Sanderling is not what I would call a B& B.
