Looking for advice for first time visit

My husband and I have never been to the Outer Banks and are looking to visit the end of August. What is the best town to stay in, centrally located, good restaurants, pubs, access to fishing, etc. Also any recommendations on B&B's/Inns that would be close to or on the beach? Thanks!

Central and lots to do means Kill Devil Hills or Nags Head and Kitty Hawk could be in the mix as well. Each of those towns is just 5 miles long so kitty to the end of Nags Head is just 10-15 miles so you are minutes from anywhere there. You can scoot over to Manteo, down to Hatteras or up to Corolla.

August will be booked up so you better start making reservations. There is a really nice B&B called Cypress House Inn in Kill Devil.

www.cypresshouseinn.com run by Veda and her hubby - nice folks neat house - great location.
