OBX/Nag's Head area in July

Going to a work-related continuing ed. class from Sunday, July 14-Wednesday, July 17th. (Husband and wife, couple). What's a "can't miss" tourist attraction, ferry ride, restaurant, hotel, etc. we need to see? We've already seen the Wright Brothers Memorial, years ago. Ideas, anyone? I'd like to try stand up paddle-boarding. We'd also like to slide down a dune? Both like lighthouses, scenery, etc. Like photography too. Thanks in advance!

Can you narrow down your location a little? A hotel name or town would be a big help

You might want to rethink sliding down the dunes. They are fragile, and the towns are concerned about maintaining them intact to help combat erosion and flooding. At least some of the towns (I haven't checked them all) have ordinances prohibiting walking, sliding, etc on dunes, and they do take it seriously.

You might be interested in the Bodie Lighthouse, which has just opened to visitors for the first time ever. The Currituck and Hatteras lighthouse all also a reasonable drive from NH.
