Most people fly to Norfolk, Viriginia (ORF) unless you are coming in a small plane which can land locally, in which case you would likely go to the Manteo airport. Depending on where you are going in the Outer Banks and your personal preferences you can also fly into Raleigh-Durham (RDU). From RDU - Manteo is about a 3.5 hour drive if you don't stop, about 3.75 - 4 hours to Nags Head. US Airways flies into Pitt County/Greenville, which would be closer than RDU but likely your flight in would be much longer ad you would need to change planes at least once.

I hate the traffic from Norflolk. I am happy flying into New Bern or Greenville. Both real small airports and a pretty drive in. about 3hrs. We usually stop for groceries on the way inCheaper and less hectic than in the obx on Saturday. Different strokes for different folks!!
