down to andaz, westin, secrets for Feb. visit

andaz is our type of hotel but beach is small and only 1 place to have dinner on site

westin looks attractive if we take adult only building

secrets gets nice reviews but at 64 are we too old for any of these AI

price is not the issue, great trip is what matters since we have never been to CR

my wife likes the nice beach at westin

advise opinion on secrets in particular

thank you for any help!

Westin is an ALL INCLUSIVE resort, they have multiple restaurants to choose from which will allow you to have nice dinners with your wife, access from rooms to common areas is quite easy.

It has a nice beach and the facilities are nice. Although none of the rooms are ocean views nor beachfront.

From what you have described, this seems to be the better choice.

We stayed at the Andaz, in February. It was a beautiful property, but we had a terrible stay there, a quick summary:

Good Things:

Beautiful property

Nice balcony - monkeys right outside your room

Tapas restaurant was nice, but service hit and miss

Bad Things:

No noise control over parties in suites, staff didn't care (although manager did and actually refunded our entire trip)

Pool closed off for private party, 2 days running at 3pm until close

Miles from anywhere

Unhappy Staff - no Pura Vida spirit that we had experienced everywhere else in Costa Rica

Very generic - you could have been staying anywhere in the world, no Costa Rica identity

Terrible service - Sides delivered after dessert. Drinks not brought over. Waiting 50 minutes to order, despite restaurant being empty, then mixing your order up
