Allegro Papagayo

Thinking of the Allegro for the first time after many trips to Cuba. Just a few questions. How is the Beach in front of the Hotel. Then some one mentioned a beach club a short distance away. Can you Cab it there and how much. How close is the nearest Volcano without going to Arenal. Any other tips would be great. Going at the end of October. Thanking all in advance. CHEERS!

We stayed there in 2008. Black sand beach that was just OK. Not sure about the beach club unless you're referring to their private beach on an island. If that's it, you take their boat over in the morning and stay all day. No going back and forth. They had snorkling, kayaks, beach chairs, etc and served lunch. It was free and was definitely worth doing. I would suggest you rent a car for a day or two (they have a car rental on site) and head to Playa del Coco, Brasalito, Conchal, Playa Grande, and Tamarindo.
