anti malaria tablets

Has any one bought from Dr Fox online or which is the best place to buy them. Are the tablets proper ones? My son-in-law advised me to buy from Boots, what do you think? jean HX

Personally(thanks to a TA) I get my tablets in Calangute(Johnnys chemist)

I just by one pack for the week before we go then get the other 5 weeks supply over in Goa so much cheaper.

Hi Jean. Never heard of Dr Fox online but I have used Travelpharm.com several times.

Brennans is also highly recommended on here. I've just checked the price and Brennans is coming out cheaper including delivery, than Travelpharm for the Paludrine/Avloclor Travel Pack.

Trip Advisor!!

Two main places online to buy them in the UK

http://www.travelpharm.com/

http://www.brennanspharmacy.co.uk/

Do take into account that you need to start the course of tablets before you leave for Goa. As Goamanc says, he buys his tablets ready for his next holiday.

Yes, iaintwoeyes is quite right about taking them before you go so they get into your system before entering a malarial zone. See here for information about taking them:

Brennans have an offer on at the moment which I think is 9.95 per pack, plus postage. Boots, last time I asked, was about £17.

And don't forget if you buy anti-malarials in Goa, that you still need paludrine and chloroquine. They work in combination and are, apparently, not effective if you just take one of them. Most of the pharmacists in Goa I've come across only give you the weekly tablet.

See my post above - you need the two drugs in combination.
