Landstuhl to Germany and Prague help request

My husband is serving in Afghanistan and we are meeting in Landstuhl in May for his two weeks R&R. Can anyone tell me which airport I should fly into? Is it reasonable to see some major things in Germany and also see Prague? Any tips on where to stay, where to go, suggested itineraries? I'm clueless and he has no time for research right now. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It is probably the best to fly into Frankfurt. If you use google search it will tell you how far Landstuhl is and you will be able to take a train there. I think you will have have enough time to do some traveling in Germany and travel to Prague.

You could do a loop (Frankfurt -) Landstuhl - Heidelberg - Würzburg - Nuremberg - Prague - Dresden - Berlin - Cologne - Middle Rhine - Landstuhl/Frankfurt.

You should allocate 2-3 days for Prague and 3-4 days for Berlin.

If it's in early May (21Apr-13May), the world's largest Spring beer festival is in Stuttgart ( www.stuttgart-tourist.de ), Fruehlingsfest ( www.stuttgarter-fruehlingsfest.de only in German). There's a lot of other interesting things to see and do there and nearby like the excellent Mercedes Benz Museum. If you decide to visit, just click on my name and look at my many contributions for this part of Germany.
