Arrived in Mallaig on the Jacobite train, wrnt searching for fish and chips as supposed to be a local speciality. The restaurant prices were a bit pricey for modest budget and seemed to be aimed at tourists (oops I was a tourist), the restaurants were also full with fellow jacobite travellers who got of the train a bit quicker than me. However, Jaffys Fish Bar at the rail station was absolutely superb and priced at proper prices. Mrs Villagecobbler had Haddock and chips at £6.00 whilst I had the daily special of Turbot and chips at £8.00. Generous portions and best fish either of us have had for quite some time. They even provide a few sests so you can sit in at no extra cost. Very good value for money.
