A little Panicked!!!!

We have frends comming to visit us for 10 days while we are in AMI next May and today I got a Panic Attack in case they want to do stuff, I won't I just find the beach and the pool are all I want !!! Has Siesta Key a centre with shops and St Armands has nice shops for a day trip? We are also thinking of a Day trip while they are with us to Kennedy Space Centre is that an ok trip to do in a Day from Anna Maria?

I know they will love it but if the dreaded word " Bored" is said we will have to have some options. As they have never been to the USA before I do want to show them the best time which is why I do think AMI is perfect.

I'll be your friend & come stay for 10 days :) Wine on the patio watching the sunset will be enough for me! But more seriously, even though I've never been to AMI, I have been to downtown Sarasota & loved it. Tarpon Springs is also a unique little place.

Remember you are on your vacation, don't embark on a drive to the space coast. Nearby, take a drive to Treasure Island/St Pete Beach/Passe Grille, have lunch, hit the shops and take a dinner cruise on a casino boat from John's Pass, travel time: 35 minutes. Head to Punta Gorda - Port Charlotte, lunch and shop at the Fisherman's Pier at Port Charlotte, take a Boat Cruise to Boca Grande or Cabbage Key, travel time with traffic: 75 minutes. Take a day trip to Sanibel/Captiva, have lunch and shop, if you want to stay overnight, get a hotel room at the SOUTH SEAS RESORT, have breakfast the next day, head back to AMI; travel time: 2 hrs, 15 minutes depending on the traffic flow. Don't venture a great distance, these trips offer a nearby view of the same paradise we have on AMI.

I am assuming your friends have a car, that way if they are bored and you want to chill on the beach you can have some apart time...a key to remaining friends

I think you should make sure they wouldn't mind visiting some of those places by themselves, without you. It's your vacation too! I assume you spent a good amount of money for this trip, and there is no reason to spend 10 days of it running around for the benefit of other people. It's fine to have a list of places for them to visit and say you will go with them to some of them, but they can choose some to visit alone. Then you go sit on the beach or by the pool!!

Do not panic. Canaveal is a ways, about 3 hours during the best of times. I would not do it from here without an overnight.

St Armand's is a good half day activity. Wander the shops, eat, Okay,. Mote is a must do. The Mote boat is also great. Siesta Key has a central shopping/restaurant area. I personally recommend Old Salty Dog for lunch. There are also neat areas of Venice (island of Venice), Boca Grande, Sanibel

Did not let me finish editing. Try captain Kathe or Kim, try Sanibel, or Punta Gorda fishing village.
