Hop on Hop off Bus Geiranger

Hi

Anyone done this - it offers

"After the 14. August 2012 we offer the Hop On off bus as a Round tour. It will go the normal route and stopp for 10 min at Eagelbend, Flydalsjuvet and you can get off at the Norwegian Fjordsenter."

Eaglebend - is a view point, what are the others?

Did you enjoy it?

Is there much else to do there by foot?

Thanks

Flydalsjuvet is also a viewpoint

Eaglebend

Both are too far to walk.

There is a waterfall you can walk under. And if you are not coming with a cruise ship, take the ferry to Hellesylt = Norways cheapest fjord cruise...;)

The bus will take you to the most visited viewpoints in Geianger. Bus leaves every hour and tickets can be bought online at http://www.geirangerfjord.no or on site at the touristoffice. Price €25 .

But is this a real hop on/hop off bus where you can get off and wait for the next bus to come along or do you have to get back on to your original bus? 10 minutes seems like a really short amount of time. Just wondering if I get into take some nice photos, can I just wait for the next bus?

Any help appreciated!

I do think it is a real ho-ho bus, but I do not know how frequent they are.

I checked with the tour operator who runs the Ho/Ho bus. Unfortunately they do not operate it as a true hop on/hop off. You must stay with the same bus which means you will only have 5 to 10 min at each of the viewing points. That is not a lot of time if you are an avid photographer...

Well, then I would say the ho-ho name is quite misleading.

What is the best time to take the hop on and hop off bus if you want you to take photos? Morning or Afternoon?

Daylight hours are long in summer, as soon as the sun is above the mountains on a sunny day. On an overcast day it does not really matter.

If it is overcast does that mean you can't see anything?
