holiday for family with 2 teenagers and 11 year old

Hi

Sorry to post again after previously somebody mentioned the Alvor forum may be worthing looking at.

I wondered if anybody has any ideas for a family of 5 including teenagers. We like to stay somewhere where you can walk of an evening to restaurants, shops etc. We have been looking at Lagos and wondered if Alvor may be an option too.

Thanks in advance for any help.

We went to Alvor in 1999 with two 14 year olds, a 12 year old and an 8 year old and we had a ball. We stayed in a two bed in Alvorferias and there were loads of other kids around for them to play with. The following year, we left it too late to book Alvorferias and ended up staying in Alto Club. We loved Alto, but our daughter and her friend used to wander across to Alvorferias to meet up with the friends they met the previous year.

We've been going back to Alvor ever since and absolutely love the place. Fantastic beach, loads of great restaurants and bars, very family friendly and just a great place to be. There's lots of accommodation within a short walk of Alvor village, including Alto Club (where we bought a 1 bed apartment in 2007), Dunas do Alvor, Vila da Praia and Alvor Ria. You'll be spoiled for choice and there's a good chance that if you go there, you'll fall in love with the place and keep going back year after year.

Club alvor ria is opposite the start of the harbour promenade, very easy walk into town and a good location for the beach. They have a selection on holiday lettings.

Did gale near albufeira last year. Nice but too quiet for the kids.

Do you know what we still haven't. We have been taking on everyone's advice and finding it hard to get everything we want. Entertainment at apartments, walks of an evening plenty of nice shops but not rowdy aahhh! Ibiza keeps pulling us! ! Want to sort it by end of next week though.

We did but not Portugal in the end. We decided ibiza was to be the holiday destination as we know it ticks all the boxes and we love it. Hope you find somewhere you like.
